Review

Ujung Kulon National Park is located at the western tip of of Java island, Indonesia. The park area includes Krakatau Nature Reserve and several small islands around it, like Handeuleum Island and Peucang Island. Ujung Kulon has an area of ​​approximately 122 956 ha; (443 km ² of which is the sea), covered the area from the headland Ujung Kulon to the Indian Ocean.

Ujung Kulon became the first National Park established in Indonesia, and has also been established as one of the World Heritage protected by UNESCO in 1991, because its area covers the broad protected forest. Until now, an estimated 50 to 60 rhinos live in this habitat.

Ujung Kulon National Park with Krakatau Nature Reserve is a national asset of Indonesia, and has been designated as a World Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1991. To improve the management of Ujung Kulon National Park as a World Natural Heritage Site, UNESCO has provided financial support and technical assistance.

Permission to enter this National Park can be obtained at the National Park Headquarters in the City of Labuan or Tamanjaya. Lodging can be obtained in Handeuleum Island and Peucang Island.

Itinerary

Day 1, Jakarta – Sumur.

20.00 : Every participant has to be at Meeting point in Semanggi plaza and briefing.

21.00 – 05.00 : From Jakarta we will drive to Sumur, overnight on the way.

Day 2, Sumur – Peucang Island – Handeuleum Island (B,L,D)

05.00 – 06.00 : Upon arrival at Sumur, break, we will have enough time for breakfast.

06.00 – 07.00 : From Sumur, we will go to the port to start our trip to Peucang island.

07.00 – 11.00 : Trip to Peucang island.

11.00 – 12.00 : Arrive at Peucang island, free activities on the beach.

12.00 – 13.00 : Having lunch and break.

13.00 – 16.00 : Explore Karang Copong (Trekking)

16.00 – 16.30 : Trekking to Cidaon throughout typical tropical forest.

16.15 – 17.00 : Explore Cidaon, a savanna for wild live view, if we are lucky we will see wild bull are grazing.

17.00 – 20.00 : Heading toward the lodge on Handeuleum island.

20.00 – 21.00 : Upon arrival at the lodge, break and having lunch.

21.00 – : Free activities.

Day 3, Handeuleum Island – Sumur – Jakarta (B,L)

05.00-06.00 : Enjoy Sunrise at the port of Haneduleum island

06.00 – 08.00 : Breakfast and then packing.

08.00 – 10.00 : We will head toward Cigenter river and canoeing to its estuary.

10.00 – 12.00 : From Handeuleum island we will back to Sumur.

12.00 – 13.00 : Upon arrival at Sumur, having lunch, and then preparing to baack to Jakarta.

13.00 – 21.00 : Trip from Sumur to Jakarta.

21.00 : Arrive at Semanggi plaza, tour end.
