From there, we’ll board a traditional fisherman’s boat for a brief but scenic ride across the strait. The moment you step ashore, you’ll feel a sense of entering a world far removed from the mainland.
The trek to Segoro Anakan is the highlight of the trip. The trail winds through a dense tropical forest, alive with the sounds of birds and the scent of damp earth and exotic plants. The trek takes approximately two hours, but every step is a rewarding part of the adventure. As the forest thins out, you’ll be greeted by the breathtaking sight of the turquoise lagoon, a natural amphitheater of calm water enclosed by towering cliffs. This hidden paradise is the perfect place to set up our camp, allowing us to spend the night surrounded by the pure sounds and sights of nature.
At Segoro Anakan, we will work together as a team to set up our tents and prepare for the evening. The sense of camaraderie as we build our camp and gather firewood for a bonfire is a special part of the experience. As the sun begins its descent, the lagoon is bathed in a magical golden light. The evening will be spent enjoying a communal barbecue, sharing stories around a crackling fire, and simply soaking in the peaceful atmosphere of this secluded island.
The lagoon itself is a masterpiece of nature. Its calm waters are a stark contrast to the relentless waves just on the other side of the natural rock wall. You’ll have the morning to swim, snorkel, or simply relax on the pristine white sand. The lack of commercial development means the area is completely untouched, offering a pure and unadulterated beach experience.
Goa Cina: The Dynamic Beauty of the South Coast
After our magical night on Sempu Island, we’ll pack up our gear and trek back to Sendang Biru Beach. From there, our journey continues to Goa Cina Beach. The drive is short, but the scenery changes dramatically, as the gentle calm of the lagoon is replaced by the powerful roar of the ocean.
Goa Cina Beach gets its name from a nearby cave (“Goa” in Indonesian) and is known for its dramatic coastal landscape. The beach is stunning, with rugged cliffs, powerful waves, and a wide stretch of sand. Unlike the serene waters of Segoro Anakan, the waves here are strong and a beautiful sight to behold. We will spend the afternoon exploring the beach, taking photos of the iconic rock formations, and watching the sun set over the horizon. The vibrant colors of the sky as day turns to night are truly spectacular and provide a powerful final memory for our trip.
Trip Itinerary: A Comprehensive 2-Day Adventure
This carefully planned itinerary is designed to give you a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation, ensuring you get the most out of your trip.
Day 1
- 08:00 – 09:00: We’ll meet at our designated meeting point at Arjosari Bus Station in Malang for a quick briefing.
- 09:00 – 12:00: Our journey to Sendang Biru Beach begins. For those coming from Surabaya, you can join our group at Jatim Expo at 07:00 AM for an additional fee of IDR 30,000.
- 12:00 – 13:00: Arrive at Sendang Biru Beach. We’ll take a short rest and prepare for the crossing.
- 13:00 – 13:30: We will cross to Sempu Island using a local fisherman’s boat.
- 13:30 – 15:30: The main trek to Segoro Anakan begins, a rewarding 2-hour walk through the tropical forest.
- 15:30 – 16:30: We’ll work together to set up our camp and gather firewood for the evening bonfire.
- 16:30 – 19:00: Enjoy free time to explore, swim in the lagoon, and watch the magnificent sunset over the island.
- 19:00 – 21:00: We’ll have a group barbecue and enjoy our dinner supplies.
- 21:00 – 00:00: Free activities and a chance to rest under the stars, enjoying the peaceful sounds of the island.
Day 2
- 06:00 – 07:00: Wake up, have breakfast with the supplies we brought, and enjoy the peaceful morning on the island.
- 07:00 – 09:00: Free time to swim in the lagoon, relax on the beach, and capture photos of this stunning location.
- 09:00 – 11:30: We’ll pack up our camp and trek back to Sendang Biru Beach.
- 11:30 – 13:00: Rest, freshen up, and have lunch at Sendang Biru.
- 13:00 – 14:00: Our journey continues to Goa Cina Beach.
- 14:00 – 18:00: Arrive at Goa Cina Beach. We’ll spend the afternoon exploring and enjoying the beautiful sunset.
- 18:00 – 19:00: Dinner and a short rest.
- 19:00 – 21:00: We’ll begin our return trip to Malang.
- 21:30 onward: We’ll arrive back at the meeting point in Malang, and the trip concludes.
