Batik is a treasured cultural heritage and a key part of the Indonesian Archipelago’s identity. Traditional batik is a painstaking process that requires skill and patience, which is why a single piece of batik cloth holds so much value—it’s not just about the fabric but the art and cultural story behind it.
In this tour, you’ll get a hands-on experience with this unique tradition. You’ll learn about the local culture and wisdom reflected in Probolinggo’s Dewi Rengganis Batik, try your hand at drawing motifs, and follow the careful process of making your own batik cloth. At the end of the class, you can take your creation home with you as a souvenir.
The tour also includes a visit to the Dewi Rengganis Batik Gallery to see their collections. If time permits on your way back, you can make a bonus stop at Bentar Beach, a beautiful spot perfect for enjoying the sunset.

Day 01 :
Itinerary
We will pick you up and drive you to Jatiurip village, home to a local batik industry. The drive takes about 40 minutes.
Arrival: You'll meet the local artisans, see the Dewi Rengganis Batik collection, and learn about the history and local culture reflected in its motifs.
Batik Class: The 2-hour class begins. You'll be given a piece of cloth and will be guided through the process of drawing, coloring, and completing your own batik.
Return Trip: After the class, you'll be driven back to your final destination in Probolinggo. If there's enough time, you can visit Bentar Beach and a local souvenir center. The tour ends upon arrival.
