Itinerary: Your 3-Day Adventure to Sempu and Bromo
This tour is carefully designed to make the most of your time, providing a balanced and exciting program.
Day 1: Arrival and City Warm-Up We will warmly welcome you upon your arrival at the airport or train station in either Surabaya or Malang. This first day is a gentle introduction to the region before the main adventure begins. We will take you on a brief city tour of either Surabaya or Malang-Batu, giving you a taste of the local culture and allowing you to acclimatize. This “warm-up” activity is perfect for relaxing after your journey and preparing for the more physically demanding days to come.
Day 2: Coastal Trekking and Mountain Journey We will start the day bright and early to ensure we arrive at Sendang Biru Beach, a charming beach on Malang’s southern coast, in the morning. From here, we will board a local fisherman’s boat for a short trip to Ants Bay on the side of Pulau Sempu. This small, secluded bay is the starting point of our trek to Segoro Anakan lagoon.
The trek through the tropical jungle will take about an hour and a half, leading you through an ecosystem teeming with life. Upon arrival, you can swim in the serene lagoon and witness the power of the high waves of the southern sea from the safety of a rocky cliff ledge. As the afternoon winds down, we will trek back to Sendang Biru Beach along the same path. After a well-deserved rest, we will begin our journey towards Probolinggo and check into a hotel on the slopes of Gunung Bromo, preparing for an unforgettable morning.
Day 3: Volcanic Sunrise and Departure The most exciting day of the trip begins at 2:30 a.m. We will start our journey to Gunung Bromo to witness the legendary sunrise. The first stop is Penanjakan, the best place to enjoy the sunrise from a height and take in the entire mountainous landscape of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park.
After the sun has risen and you’ve captured the perfect photos, we will continue exploring the Bromo area up close. You will have the opportunity to trek to the Bromo crater, where you can peer into the active volcano’s heart. We will also visit the famous Savanna, often called “Teletubbies Hill” for its lush green rolling hills, and the Whispering Sand, a unique area where the wind creates a soft, mysterious sound as it moves across the dunes.
By noon, we will have completed all these activities and will return to the hotel for a well-deserved lunch and a short rest. Breakfast is not included on this morning as it is not possible to stop for a meal during the early-morning exploration, so we recommend you bring snacks to eat on the go. After lunch, we will pack up, check out, and continue our journey to your next destination.
