Day One: A Midnight Journey to a Hidden Paradise

Your adventure begins late at night, a strategic start to maximize your time and experiences. At 11:00 PM, all participants will gather at a designated meeting point in Surabaya for a quick briefing and introduction. From there, the journey begins. Your comfortable, air-conditioned transport will depart promptly, heading south towards Malang and the coastal village of Sendang Biru. This is a long but necessary part of the trip, allowing you to travel through the night and arrive fresh for the morning’s activities. We recommend using this time to get some rest as you prepare for the exciting day ahead.

Day Two: The Beauty of Sempu and the Road to Bromo

You will arrive at Sendang Biru beach around 5:00 AM. As the first light of dawn appears, you’ll be greeted by the fresh sea breeze and the sight of a quiet fishing village coming to life. This is the perfect time to rest and enjoy a hearty breakfast before you embark on the next leg of your journey.

Trekking to Segoro Anakan

The heart of Sempu Island is its most famous feature: Segoro Anakan. This is a beautiful lagoon hidden within the island, connected to the open sea by a narrow cave that acts as a natural water channel. To reach this hidden gem, you’ll first cross from Sendang Biru beach to Sempu Island by a local fisherman’s boat. The short trip across the calm waters offers stunning coastal views.

Upon arrival, your trekking adventure begins. The island is a protected forest and nature reserve, so a permit from the authorities is required, which your tour guide will handle. The trek to Segoro Anakan takes around two hours, winding through dense, protected forests. The path can be challenging at times, but the lush green scenery and the sounds of the jungle make for a rewarding journey.

When you finally emerge from the jungle, the sight of Segoro Anakan will take your breath away. The crystal-clear, calm lagoon is a stark contrast to the open sea just beyond the cliff face. You’ll have two hours to enjoy this hidden paradise—swimming, taking photos, or simply relaxing on the white sand. Since Sempu Island does not have a source of fresh water, all supplies must be brought from Sendang Biru, a logistical detail our tour handles for you.

From the Coast to the Volcano

After enjoying the lagoon, you’ll make the return trek to the beach, followed by a well-deserved lunch. The next part of the journey is a long one, as you travel overland from Sendang Biru to Mount Bromo via Probolinggo. This trip takes approximately six hours, covering a significant distance across East Java. You’ll arrive at your hotel at the foot of Mount Bromo around 9:00 PM, with plenty of time to check in, rest, and prepare for the main event of the tour.

Day Three: Sunrise on Bromo and the Journey Home

The day begins well before dawn, with a wake-up call at 2:00 AM. You’ll leave the hotel and board a powerful Hardtop (4WD vehicle). This off-road vehicle is essential for navigating the rugged terrain and a key part of the Bromo experience.

The Majestic Bromo Sunrise

Your destination is Penanjakan, the perfect viewpoint to witness one of the world’s most spectacular sunrises. As the sky slowly brightens, you’ll see the silhouetted shapes of three iconic volcanoes: Mount Bromo itself, the perfectly conical Mount Batok, and the towering, majestic Mount Semeru in the distance. The moment the sun breaks the horizon, casting a golden glow over the vast caldera, is truly unforgettable. If you’re lucky, you might even see a rainbow stretching over the sea of sand as you descend, a perfect finale to the sunrise spectacle.

Exploring the Volcanic Caldera

After the sunrise, you’ll head down into the caldera to begin your exploration. The Jeep will take you across the vast sea of sand to the base of Mount Bromo. From there, you’ll embark on a trek to the active crater, climbing a set of stairs that lead you to the very rim. Looking down into the smoking crater is an exhilarating and humbling experience.

After the crater, your tour continues to other famous spots within the caldera, including the lush Savana (also known as Teletubbies Hill) and the Whispering Sands. You’ll also see Pure Poten, a sacred temple located in the center of the sea of sand, which is a focal point for the Tengger people’s religious ceremonies.

After a full morning of exploration, you’ll return to the hotel for a well-deserved breakfast. Then, at 11:00 AM, you’ll begin the final leg of your journey, a three-hour drive back to Surabaya. The tour program officially ends with your drop-off in the city at 2:00 PM, leaving you with incredible memories of an epic adventure.
