Prambanan Temple Tour
Prambanan Temple is the largest Hindu temple in Indonesia. It’s a complex consisting of three main temples dedicated to the Hindu gods Shiva, Brahma, and Vishnu, along with hundreds of smaller temples. Although the exact date of its construction is not known, it is believed to have been built in the mid-9th century by King Balitung Maha Sambu from the Sanjaya Dynasty. This assumption is based on the Syiwagrha Inscription, which was found near the temple and is now preserved at the National Museum in Jakarta.
Prambanan Temple is located in Prambanan Park, about 17 km east of Yogyakarta, precisely in Prambanan Village, Bokoharjo Sub-district. Its location is only about 100 meters from the Yogyakarta-Solo highway, making it easy to find.
